A gutter system is supposed to carry water running off your roof to downspouts so it doesn't saturate the soil next to your house. When this soil is saturated, you run the risk of getting the foundation wet. A foundation exposed to water can lead to a multitude of problems.
If your gutters are not cleaned regularly and they start to overflow, allowing water to find its way to the soil directly next to your house can also be a problem. As the soil on top becomes water logged, the water will travel deeper and deeper into the soil layers. If the soil underneath your foundation becomes too saturated then it could give way causing a cave in of your home’s foundation.
We will flush all downspouts (up to two stories) and never leave a mess behind, so you can save on costly home repair by keeping your gutters fresh and maintained. Ask us about available gutter screens!
Gutters and downspouts need to be checked and cleaned at least twice a year. The best time for service and maintenance are in the late spring and once again in late fall. This is under normal weather conditions. In rainy areas, they should be checked more frequently.
